The people, the excitement, the city!

Detroit, you are fantastic! Forget the media hype! You guys are awesome!

During the weekend I was fortunate to meet some great people. I lot of them were celebrities and athleles in from other cities and nations.

However, the folks from Detroit were magnificent!

After the celebrity basketball game we move to the next episode. Johnson Publishing threw a lavish soiree at Seldom Blues. One of the best highlights of the night was reuniting with my old college buddy Lydia Davis-Eady.  Lydia served as a Vice President JPC.  The great John Johnson was her mentor.  Lydia has formed her own company and planned the event.

Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick stopped by to give his blessing.  Also in attendance Emmit Smith, Warrick Dunn, Jamie Foster Brown, Mel Farr, Willie Lanier, Ed Lewis, Doug Williams and his wife, James Harris.

Here's more on Ken Brown

Just finished day one of our road trip to Detroit.  Check out the recap!

After arrving in Detroit, Ken Brown and his super assistant Nikki White greeted us. We checked into the brand new Hampton Inn in Commerce Township. Imagine - with all the hotels in the city booked for almost a year in  advance, Ken hooked us up with a BRAND NEW HOTEL!!! The man is amazing!

It's on to his McDonald's restaurant to set up for the broadcast.

The first event we attended was a perfect kickoff for Superbowl XL weekend. This is Black History Month. We dropped by to pay homage to the memory of a person who made Black History, Fritz Pollard.  Frederick Douglass "Fritz" Pollard was the first African American coach in the National Football League. The Fritz Pollard Alliance gave a reception and awards ceremony honoring the outstanding Black head coaches in the NFL. Honored were Indianapolis Colts' Tony Dungy, Chicago Bears' Lovie Smith, Cincinnati Bengals' Marvin Lewis and Larry Lee former Vice President of football operations for the Detroit Lions.

Next it was on to "The Field Generals" reception. "The Field Generals" are the Black quaterbacks who played in the NFL. I was proud to salute generals Warren Moon, James Harris, Doug Willams. Also in attendance was Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Robert Porcher (the event was hosted at his venue - Detroit's Breakfast House & Grill @ Merchant's Row), and Doug's wonderful family. I lost my mind when I saw James Harris. He was my hero when I was growing up!

We're on the road! We left downtown Detroit to get to 8 Mile for the live broadcast. The atmosphere was crazy and electric!

Showtime! We're up and running. Via satellite, "TMI, Too Much Information" hosts its first live remote broadcast at the 8 Mile McDonald's restaurant of the dynamic Ken Brown! Awesome is the only word that can describe the feeling! Great guests, great host, great show.

Join us again tonight as we broadcast from Detroit, Michigan! "TMI, Too Much Information" on XM Satellite Radio channel 169 "The Power." Midnight to 2 am (Eastern); 9 pm to 11 pm (Pacific)
